EXPRESS ANNOUNCES THE RELEASE OF EPIC VERSION 3.0
Includes Module to Export Data to Distributor Business Systems
Carlsbad, CA - July 29, 2003
Material Express has just released its newest version of EPIC™
(Electronic Price Information and Catalogs) for Distributors.
The new Version 3.0 EPIC program combines the strength of an electronic
database, access to full color manufacturer catalogs and a price
and product updating service in one easy-to-use program.
Distributors are now able to customize their pricing through
the addition of discount schedules, velocity codes and price classes.
The option to assign discounts or markups to these fields of information
as well as by manufacturer, commodity code or single item adds
to the overall effectiveness of the Pricing Module.
A robust Export Module allows distributors to
export the data in a number of file formats including 128 and
2x80 byte record layouts typically used in legacy business systems.
These features, combined with the ability to export data by manufacturer
or date range, give distributors full control over the data that
they export.
EPIC has also been enhanced to include administrative functions
such password access to sensitive pricing modules and the ability
to set views by individual workstation.
Barry Mester, President of Material Express states, "For
years, distributors have demanded control over the price and product
information they import into their business systems. We redesigned
EPIC to provide this control - plus added functionality that has
never before been available to distributors. The new EPIC product
also provides an easy to use tool for exporting data to contractors'
estimating and business systems."
Material Express, Carlsbad, CA, is a sister company of Vision
Infosoft Corp, established in 1993. Material Express was established
in 1999 to provide software and information products to electrical
and plumbing distributors. The initial product offering was Order
Express, an Internet storefront, followed by EPIC™
- Electrical Pricing Information
& Catalogs. APeX™
(Advanced Pricing eXchange)
was launched in January 2002. CatLynx™,
a web-based Image Server, was released in July 2003.
